The Liz Claiborne Center for Humanism in Medicine

Under the Divisions' leadership, The Liz Claiborne Center for Humanism in Medicine (LCCHM) is conceived as an educational center for health care professionals and trainees in multiple disciplines. Its mission is to enhance and integrate the awareness, attitudes, knowledge, and skills of the principles of palliative care, and to promote the profile and practice of medical humanism, throughout the institution. Randi R. Diamond, MD, is the Founding Director of the Center.

LCCHM is a co-sponsor of the ASCENSUS Journal of Humanities, a new annual publication of the tri-institutional community. ASCENSUS explores and showcases how creative contemplation can elevate the practice and study of medicine. It is an opportunity to share thoughts and perspectives that highlight not only the art of medicine but the artistry within this medical community.
