The ACE Unit

The ACE unit on Greenberg 10 North at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is a new unit that is an excellent example of teamwork. ACE stands for Acute Care for the Elders. On the unit, geriatrics attending, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, dietician, physical therapist, social worker, residents, and interns work with the nursing staff to provide care geared towards the special needs of the geriatric population. The staff takes a holistic perspective when assessing aspects of patient's functioning to determine medical care and discharge needs.
